Product Care

Our products are made to last. We stand behind the idea that well made products reduce waste and support a more sustainable way of being. One of the reasons behind our company being created was to improve people's lives, which is not possible without reducing the impact that we have on the world around us.

Our goal is to make products that will be as useful as possible. There is no desire to make beautiful objects that sit on your counter or living room in this studio. We strive to make your home more useful and therefore a more enjoyable place to be. We have learned there is no joy in something that can’t be used for what it was intended for.

All our products are handmade in the U.S. and we set high standards for anything that comes out of our studio.

We like to think of our products as tools for users. Everything has to have a purpose before it gets considered as a potential product. We then build prototypes and test them rigorously.

To get the most out of our products we have compiled some information and tips for cleaning and maintenance.

Our cutting boards should not be washed with hot water and should be dried with a cloth immediately after, we recommend leaving them to air dry without anything laying on them or restricting air flow. This way the water that has been absorbed can dry out quickly and prevent the board from warping. Warm soapy water is fine to use, rinse well. If a board is left with a wet face for an extended period of time, it is very likely that it will warp.

We recommend waxing them regularly with our cutting board and butcher block wax. As soon as they look a bit thirsty it is a good idea to wax them a bit with an old t-shirt or a small cloth, then letting them absorb the wax overnight. The residual wax can be wiped off with a paper cloth.

Our bowls and  other wooden products are finished with hard wax finishes such as Osmo or Rubio monocoat. We recommend purchasing their recommended cleaners to ensure a longer lasting finish. If needed, these can be cleaned with a moist rag.

Using ammonia based cleaners will damage the finish and it will ruin it through time. We really recommend that any harsh cleaner is avoided.

Products that have Osmo Polyx are Desks, Tables, Coffee Table, Oval Catchalls and other non food contact pieces.

We recommend taking a look at their care instructions to understand how to get the most out of your product.

If applicable we recommend this cleaner for your furniture:

Osmo:

Or their spray solution for everyday cleaning.

Rubio Monocoat:

Or larger option:

Our brass products should not require any further maintenance than wiping them with a moist cloth.

Leather products should be cleaned with a mild leather cleaner and no harsh chemicals used. We recommend not getting them wet and using delicate cloths to clean them as they are scratched easily.
